What it looks like
About the app
Is this photo real, or AI-generated? AiPicDetect gives you a straight answer — an AI likelihood score, a confidence band, and the actual metadata evidence, not just a yes/no guess.
AN AI IMAGE DETECTOR THAT SHOWS ITS WORK
- Pick a photo from your gallery or take one with the camera
- An open-source AI-detection model scores how likely the pixels were produced by an image generator
- You get an AI likelihood percentage, a classification (AI / Real / Uncertain), and a confidence band — a probability, not a verdict
WHO IT IS FOR
Journalists and fact-checkers verifying a photo before they publish it. Photographers and digital artists checking their own work. Moderators and researchers. Anyone who has been sent a picture and wants to know whether it came out of Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, DALL·E or a camera.
METADATA, INSPECTED
Every photo carries hidden data that files don't show you — EXIF, XMP, IPTC, C2PA content credentials, and ICC colour profiles. AiPicDetect checks for all five and shows you exactly what it found, including which JPEG segments are present.
A METADATA REMOVER BUILT IN
Want the metadata gone? AiPicDetect rebuilds the image from its raw pixels rather than deleting tags one by one, so nothing from the original file is carried over — no EXIF, no GPS location, no camera serial, no C2PA provenance. Save the clean copy to your gallery or share it straight from the app.
WORKS WITH THE FORMATS YOU HAVE
JPEG, PNG, WebP and HEIC/HEIF, up to 50 MB.
OPEN SOURCE, NO BLACK BOX
The detector is an open Hugging Face model you can inspect or swap out yourself. The whole project — server, CLI, and this app — is MIT-licensed and on GitHub. No sign-up, no account, no tracking, and your image is scored in memory and never written to disk.
The free hosted instance allows a limited number of checks per day. For unlimited use, self-host the server on your own machine with one Docker command and point the app at it from Settings.
AiPicDetect reports a probability, not proof. Treat any single result as one signal and weigh it alongside other evidence.
